Nou Klass — exam practice for Mauritius
Nou Klass is used by children, so we collect as little as we can and we do not sell anything about anyone. There is no advertising in the app, and no third-party analytics or tracking.
A child never gives us an email address or a phone number. A parent or teacher creates the account; a child signs in with a family name, a username and a PIN.
| Who | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Parent or teacher | Email address, the name you type, your settings (theme, how often you want emails), and sign-in times | To sign you in, to let you recover your account, and to send only the emails you asked for |
| Child | The display name and username their parent or teacher chose, their grade, a chosen avatar, and a PIN we store hashed — never in readable form | So they can sign in on a shared device without an email address |
| Child's work | Which questions were answered, whether they were right, scores, streaks and points | To show progress to the child and their own parent or teacher |
| Homework | The name typed on a homework link, the answers given and the mark | So the teacher who set the work can mark it |
| Technical | IP address and browser type at sign-in and on a homework submission | Security only — spotting abuse of a shared link. Not used to build a profile of anyone |
We do not ask for a home address, a date of birth, a photograph, or a child's location.
Children cannot see each other's marks. A shared class page deliberately shows a child only their own result, and only when they signed in with their own PIN.
If a child chooses to share a question with a friend for help, the link carries the question only — never their name, and never the correct answer. It stops working after a few minutes.
Data is held by Supabase in the European Union (Frankfurt). The site is served by Cloudflare. Email is sent by Resend (Ireland) and, for sign-in and password emails, by Google. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Only to parents and teachers, never to children. You choose what you get — the progress report (weekly, fortnightly, monthly or never), homework results, and occasional announcements. Every automatic email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can change all of it under Account & Settings → Notifications.
Emails about your account itself — a password reset, or an administrator activating your account — are always sent, because you need them to sign in.
You can see, correct, export or delete your family's information at any time from Account & Settings, or by writing to us. Deleting an account removes the children on it and their work.
A parent may ask us to delete a child's information without closing their own account. We will do it, and we will not ask why.
Nou Klass is intended for school children, and an account is created by a parent, guardian or teacher — not by a child. We do not knowingly collect information from a child except the work they do in the app, and the display name their adult chose for them.
If you believe a child has given us something they should not have, write to us and we will remove it.
Questions, corrections or a deletion request: admin@nouklass.com.
We will reply to a privacy request within 30 days.
