NCE Grade 9 Biology practice — circulation, reproduction, biodiversity and nutrition in plants.

Aligned with the MIE curriculum
Biology at Grade 9 is a subject about systems that have to keep working. Circulation is not a diagram to label but a circuit with a pump, a direction and a reason for every valve; reproduction is a sequence where the order is the content. Questions ask what happens when one part of the system changes.
Biodiversity is where the syllabus turns local. Mauritius is a place where extinction is documented rather than theoretical, which makes it the natural case for teaching why variety within a population matters at all.

Scientific Inquiry
Science, Technology & Society
How it is practised
It is its own paper — the NCE sets Biology, Chemistry and Physics as three independent 45-minute, 50-mark papers, so it is practised as its own subject and never bundled as "science".
Scientific Inquiry is a chapter in its own right: designing a fair test, controlling a variable, and reading a result you did not expect.
Diagrams are inline SVG with alt text that never names the answer, so a labelled illustration cannot give the question away.
