NCE Grade 9 French practice — le mot juste, transformation de phrases, formation des mots, texte à trous et rédaction.
11 chapters
1150+ questions
Aligned with the MIE curriculum
Le français au Grade 9 ne teste plus la règle, il teste le choix. « Le mot juste » et la transformation de phrases demandent de reformuler sans changer le sens — une compétence qui suppose la grammaire acquise et ne s'exerce que sur des phrases entières.
The paper also asks for documents a pupil will actually write: an email, a form, a letter of invitation. These are practised as guided writing, where the format carries marks alongside the language, and where a correct sentence in the wrong register still loses them.

How it is practised
Texte à trous and Correction d'erreurs are typed exercises, kept out of every mixed pool — a number pad under a French passage is not the exercise.
Spoken in French by a French voice, with runs of blanks collapsed to a single hum so fr-FR does not read "___" aloud as three separate words.
Œuvres au programme is practised as set-text work, which is comprehension of a specific text rather than general reading.
