Physics begins with measurement for a reason: every later answer is a number with a unit, and a pupil who is careless about precision will lose marks in topics they actually understand. Light, motion and electricity then each introduce a model, and the questions test the model rather than the vocabulary.
Energy is the thread through all of them. Heat, motion and current are three things energy does, and the most common Grade 9 question asks where it went — which is answerable only if a pupil has stopped thinking of energy as a substance.
