NCE Grade 9 Mathematics — Free Practice Questions

NCE Grade 9 maths practice — indices, trigonometry, vectors, matrices, quadratics, simultaneous equations and statistics.

Grade 9 is the year school maths becomes algebraic. Up to Grade 8 a question gives you numbers and asks for a number; here it gives you a relationship and asks you to rearrange it. Changing the subject of a formula, solving simultaneously, and factorising a quadratic are all the same skill wearing different clothes.

Geometry changes with it. Trigonometry replaces measuring with calculating, coordinates turn a line into an equation, and vectors and matrices introduce objects that have rules of their own — the first mathematics where you must know what you are allowed to do before you can do anything.
