Au Grade 3, la grammaire cesse d'être une suite de règles séparées. Le verbe s'accorde avec son sujet, l'adjectif avec son nom, et l'enfant doit tenir les deux accords dans la même phrase.

Reading lengthens to match. A passage now carries more than one idea, so a comprehension question can ask about something stated in one sentence and confirmed in another, and the answer is no longer sitting in the line the question borrowed its words from. Written expression asks for several connected sentences, where the hard part is not spelling but keeping the tense the same from the first to the last.

How it is practised

• Comprehension is practised against whole passages rather than single lines, because a passage is where a question at this level hides its answer.
• French text is spoken by a French voice rather than an English one reading French words, and the child is told once if their device has no French voice installed.
• Grammar chapters break into named sub-topics carrying their own question count, so verb endings and adjective agreement can be drilled apart from each other.
