PSAC Grade 5 Science — Free Practice Questions

Grade 5 science practice — plants, habitats, energy, water and states of matter, and simple electric circuits.

Grade 5 science is where a child first has to explain a mechanism rather than describe a thing. Water is not just wet: it changes state, and the question is what makes it change and what happens to it when it does. A simple circuit is the same shift — it either works or it does not, and the child has to say why.

Conservation is taught here as something local and specific. Mauritius has endemic species that exist nowhere else, and the syllabus treats their protection as a case a child can reason about rather than a slogan to repeat.
