PSAC Grade 4 English — Free Practice Questions

Grade 4 English practice — nouns and pronouns, tenses, adjectives, punctuation, comprehension and vocabulary.

Grade 4 English is the year the sentence becomes the unit of work. A child moves from recognising a noun to making a whole sentence agree with it — the verb, the article, the punctuation that ends it — and a mistake in any one of those makes the sentence wrong.

Reading widens at the same time. Comprehension questions start asking what a passage means rather than what it says, and vocabulary is taught through word study rather than lists, so a child can work out an unfamiliar word instead of having to have met it before.
