PSAC Grade 6 English — Free Practice Questions

Grade 6 PSAC English practice — grammar, comprehension, vocabulary and the writing the paper actually asks for.

By Grade 6 the grammar a child has been taught since Grade 1 stops being tested on its own and starts being tested inside a passage. A question about a pronoun arrives as a sentence that has to be rewritten; a question about tense arrives as a paragraph that has changed its mind halfway through.

So the work splits in two. There is the machinery — nouns and determiners, verbs and voice, how clauses join — and there is reading, where that machinery is the tool rather than the subject, and where a child has to answer what a text implies rather than what it states.
